Review:

Love and Misadventure by Lang Leav.

A few months ago, I saw this book on my @bellazoditama’s IG account. She’s currently reading this book and she told me, this book was great.

Then, I was checked an online bookstores such as Periplus Jakarta, but this book was sold. After that, one of my another friend gave me an e-book. So, after finished all of this poetry, I would say this: Lang Leav’s poems is very simple but can be sweet and sad at the same time.

3 parts from Love and Misadventure; Misadventure, The Circus of Sorrows, and Love. It’s all about love, sweet words, broken heart, another love, soul mates, an angel, and also sadness. Not only short poetry, this book also contains some prose –that have same theme with others, but can presents more dense and touching contents.

This is one of my favorite prose, Angels.

It happens like this. One day you meet someone and for some inexplicable reason, you feel more connected to this stranger than anyone else—closer to them than your closest family. Perhaps because this person carries an angel within them—one sent to you for some higher purpose, to teach you an important lesson or to keep you safe during a perilous time. What you must do is trust in them—even if they come hand in hand with pain or suffering—the reason for their presence will become clear in due time.

Though here is a word of warning—you may grow to love this person but remember they are not yours to keep. Their purpose isn’t to save you but to show you how to save yourself. And once this is fulfilled, the halo lifts and the angel leaves their body as the person exits your life. They will be a stranger to you once more.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

It’s so dark right now, I can’t see any light around me.

That’s because the light is coming from you. You can’t see it but everyone else can. (pg. 79 from e-book edition)

And this is my favorite quote,

For she is his poet,

And he is her poetry.

(pg. 6 from e-book edition)

This book has a simple and unique cover. I loves the red color and all of beautiful illustration. Love and Misadventure is like a pandora box, it contains many feelings inside and when you try to open it quickly, you’ll be surprised.

If you wanna try to read an english poetry or prose, try this book first and you’ll fall in love with her. Now I think, maybe I must try to get the printed edition.

Rate: 4 from 5 starts, and can’t wait for the sequel –Lullabies. Will be out on September. Yay! So excited. 🙂

*trying to write review in english, and my typo berantakan, hahaha* :p

Edited:
Demi menghargai jasa anak bangsa saja 😛 bukan karya, sih. Soalnya kan menerjemahkan. 😛 Silakan dapatkan bukunya di toko buku terdekat 🙂
